Essential Oils

Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts, distilled by steam, water or expeller pressed, from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots of the plant. They are highly concentrated and contrary to their description of being an "oil", they are, with the exception of some of the more resinus oils, extremely volital and diffuse and evaporate rather quicky. They are very different from perfume or fragrance oils which are artifically created and do not have the thereapeutic value the essential oils contain.

Essential oil are for external use only. They should never be taken internally.

Essential oils should never be used undiluted on skin.

Some essential oils should be avoided during pregnancy or by those with asthma or epilepsy.
